Silverfoxxx:"So yes, it really is a 'big' thing to dumb it down. On the other hand, if you wish to appear dumb to others...who cares! " "Big Brother" cares a lot, and in some tyrannies, "he" thinks he can do something about it. Meanwhile, the "Academie Francaise" or whatever they deign to call them selves look ludicrous while they try to outlaw sexy or irresistably expressive words from London in their "own" language. Anyway, their insipid efforts to dictate details of speech to the polyglot rabble within their own homogenizing realm are merely silly news items for slow news days in the otherwise eventless state-planned on-schedule wasteland..
DWAardvark, watching television programs like Univision (Spanish) because he can, and not because the "Academie Francaise" "wants" him to do otherwise for the spread of their own particular corrupted and inferior Latin dialect. Admittedly, English is even farther corrupted from a bastardized Latin or old German than French.
"Force of law?" Hawhaw. |
