Comments like "when life begins," and questions of whether a z/e/f is as alive as an appendix show me that this post is not up to a level worth a detailed response. To answer when life begins - life does not begin. Life continues from the living sperm and egg and becomes the life of a separate organism when the two unite into a zygote. To answer if an appendix is as alive as a z/e/f - yes, absolutely... and just as alive as you are. You are the combined effect of billions of living cells, just as your appendix is, just as the zygote is (except the zygote is made of one living cell). Have fun. |
