" I think you mean 1849, there. Karl Marx' home in Trier could be visited, quite recently, and it had a ground floor entrance. A nice German socialist lady was willing to show visitors around. Ironically, the communists "had" Martin Luther's stomping grounds in East Germany, until recently, about 1989. |
