Gore was worried about the propriety of being at the Playboy mansion. Playboy, the most boring, article-packed, non-porn overpriced rip-off magazine since Rolling Stone. Authors are actually happy to get their stories into Playboy. I'm sure Darren doesn't even want to ban that magazine.
