Reverse censorship: Union political $$$ on behalf of their members?

Edit
I'm not going to ignore you JulieD. But, I have my own focus. Here, below, you get an example that blocking information is balanced by partisan promotion of information. Conceptually, the two directions in the propaganda wars somewhat balance each other, and this post is intended as a counter to your and xrage's finger-pointing Plame arguments and ploys. (grin)

If I thought Tatiana was going to consistently censor, of course I would get concerned. I was even concerned as a matter of principle when she declared she would be deleting the nuts-and-bolts maintenance talk at TT Politics. It is indeed a vexing problem, to raise the decorum among the hairy animalistic brawlers at TT.

Maybe it is an insoluble problem. Just this morning I visited a good forum that had the moderator declaring that there VILL be decorum. Predictably, there aren't many recent posts.

Proposition for consideration: Are union members too dumb to know where to put their own financial support in politics? Does this amount to reverse censorship, drowning out the opposition in a loud, well, million$ financed electoral campaign? Some of those union members might like (other?) Republicans, you know, and they are being railroaded by their own union.

Similar irregularities have cropped up in WA state, with the Teacher's Union.

Now Schwarzenegger wants to d-o-o something about it? Ok-a-a-ay.

Kerry takes on Schwarzenegger over union power

Thu Oct 13, 2005 8:56 PM ET

(first paragraph)

By Dan Whitcomb

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) -
" Sen. John Kerry, losing Democratic U.S. presidential candidate in 2004 and a possible contender in 2008, took on Republican California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday by lobbying against his initiative to curb the power of the state's labor unions."

(last paragraphs)

"Todd Harris, a spokesman for Schwarzenegger, called Prop. 75 a critical reform for California, where public employee unions have long had enormous influence in the heavily Democratic state legislature.

"There is no question the legislature in Sacramento is bought and paid for by union bosses," he said. "The fact that the union bosses have been able to spend over $100 million to fight against these reforms is evidence that they have too much power. The governor has said enough is enough.""
