AwesomeMachine:"This is where people fundamentally differ: To people without souls, other people are just flesh, and whatever doesn't injure the flesh is permissible." Please define "soul", and describe who/what may have it. I think you may be on Judaeo-Christian theologically shaky quicksand. Quick impression, you are inventing things as you go along. I kinda like that "creativeness", however. Confession: I certainly don't know much for certain about "soul". I like to believe that "it" exists, "eternally", maybe, even. Maybe just as part of a greater whole, however. Furthering my theme of (debatable) "innocence", I recall hearing "Unto the pure, all things are pure". On clothing: I think it merely may be more often of utility at hiding ugliness, rather than beauty. Certainly clothing is more popular in cold climates. And I'm going out on a limb, most people with "temporal" power over others, dictating dress and tidiness standards don't really have beautiful bodies, or orderly philosophies, even, Arnold Schwarzenegger notwithstanding. |
