I was wondering about the religious upbringing because of your belt story. It seems to me that children brought up in strict religious homes tend to feel guilt about things they maybe should not. I remember hiding my shoes on Saturday night so I could skip church but almost every Sunday my dad found them. He tried forcing me and one of my sisters into church but it never took. Three times a week we went until I realized I could get into enough trouble that my dad was forced to keep me home. I feel bad for that now because it made him look bad. I didn't start getting interested in my Native ancestry until I was around 14 and even then it was a spiritual journey not a religious one. I believe that there is a higher power than us but I do not give it name or worship it. The biggest city I have been in is Minneapolis I lived there a few years and now I stay with my sister while visiting. I would not recommend seeing the mall of America though, it is quite boring. I suppose you could be right about the nude beaches, like I said before the info I found was after googling nude beaches in South Dakota and I actually found one. Times change and the sixties or even seventies are quite a ways back. I don't know anyone who has personal experiences with nude beaches(I don't think) so you probably have a broader view than I in that area. By the way a sweat lodge is called an inipi.
