Ahmedinejad's "greater majority" is a subject of considerable contention both within and outside of Iran. The available evidence suggests it is - at the very least - not nearly as big as the Iranian powers-that-be would like to pretend. Since his "greater majority" is a datum both hotly disputed and unverifiable to anyone not an Iranian Mullah, I suggest we quietly shelve it and - as we did with Bush some years back - simply resign ourselves to the sole undisputed datum: he's going to be President. "Robbins’s claim fails because the Hobbs Act does not apply when the National Government is the intended beneficiary of the allegedly extortionate acts." WILKIE ET AL. v. ROBBINS. David H. Souter, Justice, U.S. Supreme Court
with John Roberts, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy,
Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer, and Samuel Alito concurring. |
