It isn't a good or a bad drug. It is good when it is the right drug for the right diagnosis. And bad when it isn't. Just like most meds.
Well, yea, bad for the kid, of course. Depakote was originally developed for Petit Mal seizures. Found it works in treating depression as well. But from your description depression isn't what the child has.
