It's hard to miss. He could simply avoid Leno, but the way reporters phrase questions would be hard to avoid. I don't think he's reacting to the knowledge the way you or I would. He still has that devoted following, after all. He can rationalize the rest of us as jealous and hateful or simply ignorant savages who "just don't understand". What worries me is that the rest of his world is crumbling as well. This trial was not cheap, and he's had some financial setbacks of late. His prized Beatles rights are likely lost unless his lawyers are VERY good and a little lucky. He's got the adulation and quite a chunk of money to fall back on, but the world is no longer his to command, and by all accounts, this affair hurt him deeply. As I see it, the man's either going to find SOME kind of anchor and pull himself out, or he's going to go full recluse and at some point in the distant future - maybe the near future if he doesn't get better control of his impulses - off himself.
