This is what the pedophiles I know have in common. They just don't get it. If they want to have sex with somebody, they imagine that that person wants to have sex with them. Evidence to the contrary has no effect.

I think this is the most interesting and perceptive thing you've said on the Tree for the last year or two. Frankly, I never thought of it like that, but it makes more sense than any theory I could come up with. Kinda puts your "Politics" posts to shame.

[Edit: I just want to reiterate, I think Tatiana really hit to the heart of the matter, and there's no ring of bragging or falseness to it. When she says she knows President Bush and he's brilliant, it sounds like empty cheerleading. When she says she knows pedophiles and understands what they lack developmentally, it sounds absolutely true. And it's very clearly stated, in easy terms to understand. I think that's the best way to talk about psychology.

By no means do I think Tat should be denigrated for knowing pedophiles. Probably, someone I've known was a pedophile, only I didn't realize it. I have known some sleazy, shitty characters, that's for damn sure.]
