Yeah strange title I know I just kinda typed it. I should clarify though I thought it was clear I was against abuse in any form. Anyhow I think that spanking a child is fine at least after a certain obviously I'm not gonna spank a baby. If a child won't listen too reason which happens all the time a spanking IMO is fine. After the punishment though a person should sit the child down and explain what it was they did to deserve the spanking. As long as there are not bruises or lacerations on the child I see no problem. A responsible adult knows (or should know) just how far to go. Even as a teenager I can see slapping a mouthy child because they need to learn respect. As far as having a child that would punch someone else for messing with them well I have no problem with that either. If the child is provoked they have the right to stand up for themselves cause in todays society I see that adults will allow 1 kid to be constantly picked on without saying a word. I would be proud of my son if he stood up for himself even if it meant getting kicked out of school as long as he wasn't the instigator.
