But didn't Remi say they thought the eardrums would burst? Did that happen? No, of course not. So on that basis (and only that concern) it wasn't any more dangerous then than it is now. And the point Remi was making (correct me if I am wrong) is that they thought of speed greater than 30 mph dangerous in and of itself. Of course that isn't true. We have people going thousands of miles faster in space and hundreds of mph on the gound with no ill effects.
