Boris> Nope. YOU are confused here. See, you are thinking that when you clone, you are replacing one set of chromosomes. Actually, you are replacing TWO sets, UNLESS, you can find a way to replace both sets with ONE.

Boris> That is your misunderstanding here. You are thinking that a “pair” is a single “set”. When you have a conception, you have a pair, (TWO SETS) of chromosomes. Again, one from the mother, and one from the father. When you clone, you are replacing BOTH sets with identical chromosomes. IF you replace both SETS from the donor, you get a technical sibling, but not a clone. If you have a brother from the same parents, that would be very similar. I can see what you are thinking now. You are thinking that you can replace a PAIR of chromosomes with the donor’s PAIR, but you are not realizing that the PAIR consists of TWO identical SETS.
