Your Steinem shock was interesting. Thanks. I had already concluded that radfems in general were "communists". :-?

Oh, I get it, finally, about your "red pill". Ron Paul was only on my radar screen to the extent of seeing placards/signs in some local front yards. I will be studying Paul more, as an accomodation to you, since you seem to be a serious-intending TT player of substance.

I have areas of imperfect convergence with Paul, McCain, Obama, and you, but that's not necessarily overpowering. :-)

Breaking news, this morning, Gov. Richardson endorses Sen. Obama. Meanwhile Sen. Lieberman whom I like, despite his leftyness, is seen at travelling Sen. McCain's elbow, recently.

Some years ago, I was puzzled and shocked by someone in the medical field (woman physician's assistant) being so spontaneously and vocally against Bush. Then I just heard recently that the R's reduced funding for fighting sexually transmitted diseases. That would be explanatory, without playing the "communist" card. But then, I am somewhat ambivalent about feeling obligated to help people who get snared by diseases that result from their own behavior.

Philosophically, I am attracted by Libertarian ideas, BTW, and I have a record of deploring our failed war on drugs. (Compare again, protecting people from themselves, whether they themselves bother to care, or not.)

I favor liberally supporting medical research in general, but focused medical research agendas mitigating reckless behavior are not quite so worthy, IMO.
