DWA: "I too eagerly and tolerantly fell for your ploy."

What ploy?

In the Peter Sellers movie I was thinking about when I made up the CERN illustration, Sellers played a (mad) scientist who had a reactive habit of saluting generals in the Nazi style, a habit he attempted to disguise by holding the saluting arm down with the non-saluting one.

In the Clouseau movie you watched, Herbert Lom's character would more closely resemble the CERN designer-supervisor than Sellers'.

DWA too eager? Unlikely. DWA too tolerant? Possibly. Jokesters eventually succumb to their own jokes, n'est-ce pas?, Monsieur.

Simplifying is typically either helpful of others or ignoring of others. But letting the emotional energy of either loyalty or enmity be the unrecognized fashioner of purported verbal truth is a bad Rasoir Occamique, nicht wahr?

The point remains: the Occam Razor reference in the Debating Position Statement needs amendment. We want just the clarifying amount of simplicity -- no more and no less, n'est-ce pas, Monsieur?

On which subject, did you read the excerpt, DWA, on the subject of K.I.S.S., from my new book at

what's this
