""Drastic times call for drastic measures but what can be done that hasn't already been done?"

Nothing! Not on the detente agenda. How many times has there been supposed accord witnessed? How many times have hands been shaken..backs clapped..roadmaps unfurled..peace treaties agreed upon?
Treachery and openly veiled veneers, are always apparent.
Within the link provided, is an excellent psychological explanation as to reasons why it will never happen!

Charles Dickens opened his 'A tale of two cities' with:-

""It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way."

Which of the two statements in parentheses, is the better? Neither really. They are both filled with despair and uncertainty.

As I have stated many times...I am a realist!
