Mrs. Metzger told us in fourth grade that opposites are not equal. Negative four, for instance, does not equal positive four. Perhaps you are thinking of absolute values. It might be a good idea to test your sentences before committing them to public ridicule. It is confusing to apply an equation to such observations as "It rained on Tuesday", but I don't think I'd be incorrect for asserting it. |
