I have had a job as a part time- teacher for the last several years and
Based on what I've dealt with in my job(The teenager smoking in the bathroom, The pirate mouth teenager the generally hard to work with teenager etc etc) We as a culture seem to be forgetting our parents old adage practice what you preach (If Martian Luther king jr Could effectively preach to the masses about respecting the rights of blacks Then why can't someone do the same for respect?!) The Number of times I've been used by people describing me really sets me off.. We as a culture need a whole lot of lava.(and No not the kind of handsoap)The kind that moms used to be seen cleansing kids mouths out with in the movies! If I had a nickel for all The times I've been called W**** or g*** or f**** or S*** in a week I've be a very rich man. In My fathers day stuff like this was non-existant and if it was caught was punished very badly. I say it is time that some one end this Naughty trend! The Number of times I've seen teens (and yes even some adults): Diss people off Lie cheat Destroy things Just about do every disrespectale uncivil dishonest or irresponsible things.. Would Be enough to push even the Veterans of education to the brink..... You don't even want to know what I Go thru in a day. Is there any hope for a fair world at all? There is a big difference in things: When you are at home (in your own private castle) and you drop something it's ok to say d*** or S**) But when you are confronted with it daily (like when you ask a student to do a math question and he shoots you a I do look like a give a ***n action for example is quite another matter) I can understand the need for four letter words under certain conditions (like you slam your finger in the car door by accident) but all the time in public is a very different ball of wax. I think that honesty respect civility is effectually dead in public places. With out moving to Singapore Just once I'd like people to smarten up and act their age and treat people by the golden rule! In my fathers day and time Treating people with the golden rule was mandatory Now in this day and age in my opinion it seems to be optional |
