 With the energy from the wind turbines, you could extract or bring in water to raise dates and to convert into hydrogen to operate the fuel cells for non-polluting electric pumps/vehicles to bring in more copper, to run the t.v. sets, etc.

Deserts can be quieter and lower in toxic ozone (not necessarily) than the average Los Angeles freeway, you know.

With some people willing to live out deeper in the desert, also, you may have less traffic jams on the way to the beach, since the desert is *all* beach. '-)

They might also get bothered less by the law for having their *own* toxic poisons of choice.
