The hazard of windmills to birds and bats is stated as low, compared to other human causes/factors, power lines, and autos. Maybe the birds and bats will get more street wise, also.

There was a big jump in installation of wind power generation in the USofA in 2007.

When the prices and economics improve some more, I can visualise that practically every sun-facing surface is a potential electricity source too.

Plentiful energy is a productivity multiplier, and "we" *can* assure that energy is plentiful.
