That would be a boo-boo (?reward for me?) if the Science article says what the reporter says, chickens derived from T.Rex. I'll look for it.

Today's mail brought the 18 April 2008 issue. The news item says "Friday's" issue. (25 April?)

Frank:"Anyhow, suggesting relationships based on DNA or protein similarities doesn't impress you? "

Not when they automatically presume that there was no possible intelligence "out there" that could tinker with life seeded onto the Earth. That's just a convenient simplifying shortcut, IMO. "They" could introduce various series/models, and observe them. Certain ones might be designed for some "evolution", that is, adaptations to differing environments, with useful tricks hidden in the inactive majority of the DNA code?

Did you ever hear that urban myth of a counterfeit 1957 Chevrolet factory? (A Chrysler plant?) You know, with a popular model, and junkyards filled with good parts, it is certainly possible that all "1957" Chevrolets were NOT originally manufactured in 1956-1957.

Right now, there are electronic counterfeit products that are even engineered/designed from the ground up. Just make something that would sell, and slap a popular label on it.

Rip-off copies of books, music, and video are widespread and common, too, right now, and for many decades, at least.

Some particular model(s) of a US car were legitimately "intelligently" manufactured after their original model year, in Turkey, f'rinstance, I believe.
