DWA: Well, then, the 1 in 100 lucky stroke, a productive nectarine seedling, needs an explanation, which my "fruiterer" offered me.. What, that the parent nectarine was fertilized by a rose? Or was it just that occasionally a good fruit bearer does come from a seed, and if it is really good, branches will be taken and grafted to hardy rootstock?
Perhaps, since cherries are in the same family. It might be interesting to see if a viable tree could result. Plums have done it. |
