DWA: I don't believe that you or anyone else knows what "frequency" of mutation, or what kinds of mutation gave us the transition between T. rex cousins and modern day chicken gumbo. As has been noted, there are "jumps" in the biosphere occupants that may not be having any great reliance on conventional "natural" gene drift. Did you notice that you just change the subject from observed mutation rates in experimental/horticultural settings to events from over 75 million years ago? I did. Nobody thinks drift is responsible for most major transitions. DWA: So, as I said recently before, stalemate. You can't prove or disprove either ID or "Darwinism". Since you missed it last time, I'll tell you again: proof is not an issue.
Capricious supernatural meddlers are not within the reach of science and need not be considered when one is trying to understand the history of life from a scientific point of view. DWA: "This" complex, marvelous, ?improbable biosphere here around us may be itself a most eloquent message of "intelligent design". For me, it is. Hm? That is because that position for you is a statement of faith. It has nothing to do with science. You aer welcome to your belief, just don't try to justify it as science. |
