The Evolution acolytes of any knowledge what so ever would be able to tell you that placentas, milk, umbilical cords, and teats were all first tried to various degrees in chondrichthyes. Whether those anatomical features and functions are genetically related is unknown - as are the genetic relationships between platypus' electrolocation and the same ability in sharks. What does all this mean? I don't believe in intelligent design any more than I do creation, but if there is a creator, he left one truly messed up experiment behind. I think if you look at the real genetics behind platypus sex determination you will find it similar to nothing at all. The statement about it being similar to birds is ridiculous. Here's a paragraph that epitomizes the lie tactics of all scientists: "Moreover, the key gene on the Y chromosome that confers maleness in most mammals is not on any of the platypus's sex chromosomes. It is on another chromosome, where it seems to have nothing to do with sex. In its place, another gene seems to be central to sex determination in platypuses -- evidence of a shakeout of various evolutionary efforts to settle on a system of sex determination in early mammals." The first half of the paragraph is just plain gobbldy-gook. Then there's "various efforts". That sounds like the scientist is anthropomorphizing the process of evolution - but nobody's calling him out on it. I think what this research shows is that scientists make things up just to impress people and get more money. More over even though projecting a goal for evolution is a sin, they, like Catholic priests, just can't help themselves. Liars, liars liars. |
