A scam artist is a scam artist. He or she will use science, religion, politics, mathematics, economics, engineering, auto mechanics, whatever looks like it will work. The fact that you can engineer rigged dice to fall a certain way on a properly rigged table does not mean engineering is bad. The fact that a scam artist uses religion or politics or science likewise does not indict religion, politics, or science as a whole.

A scam artist is an indictment of the people who fall for him, not of the system he uses.
