DWA: "Again, I am somewhat amused by Angus' provocative positioning here, evidently of homogenising the population, which is easy for me to disagree with." How has DWA been provoked? Perhaps he likes being provoked? Perhaps he's ardvarking again? How on THIS earth does he imagine that my post on this subject aims to "homegenize" the population? DWA: "I say we have got enough of the government posing as the parent. Parents can, on average, do a much superior job to the state, and do it at minimal cost to the state, producing meritorious virtuous (part of the time) productive citizens.. Who does DWA speak for with his use of "we" here? What evidence has DWA got that "Parents can, on average, do a much superior job to the state, and do it at minimal cost to the state, producing meritorious virtuous (part of the time) productive citizens..? Would he agree that his sweeping statement on this subject -- one vital to individual, parent, and society alike -- is only true for some children? Or would he be willing to make a change, in the interests of truth, to his sweeping statement. As a rebel, he might feel that, to preserve his reputation, he best not reply to any of these questions, lest his arguments get even less rational. what's this |
