He is doing, actually, exactly what the Church of Scientology does: equating concepts in a facile mantra.

The emotion may be fervent desire. Just as your desire for salmon was fervent enough for you to take action. So, should we conlude that the desire to maintain Jewish tradition and identity by excluding a child whose parents wish to do the same is the non-bigotric equivalence of your exercizing your right to buy salmon?
