Again, some non sequitur-ness. Saddam's bravado and recklessness with other people's lives may not be equal to Attila the Hun, that's all.

I do sympathise with how he was reduced to living in a small hole before he surrendered, non-suicidal style.

I surmise that his easy discovery/detection may have been based on some ambivalent mixed estimations of his own virtues by the less than 100% swaggering slavish Baathist neighbors.
