There has been for years the thesis that English will be greatly influenced by foreigners' 'pidgin' dialects. English has, however, in the last 200 years acquired a standard core, whose grammar is gradually being adopted by a larger and larger population today. So, while it is true that English vocabulary is being expanded to include an ever-growing list of inventions by people both using "standard English" and dialectical English, and while folksy people with baseball caps on backward delight in poking fun at those with a serious bent and who must for that very purpose use standard English, English grammar appears to be weathering the unpopularity arising from people having to learn its discipline.

The debate now is whether the core grammar is reflective enough of the nuances of need of human beings as a specie to survive. In that debate, the rules of dialogue are being worked out because the need, as Remi puts it, not to shoot each other is obviously paramount. what's this
