Angus:"But what is significant about your post, to me, is that the other side can be simply defended by going to innumerable, well-financed, conservative foundations established during the Reagan and Bush years and passing on news in an interpreted form that fits the conservative ideology."

Angus:"This will be an arduous task. But North Americans have risen to arduous tasks that were necessary for humanity before. I have confidence we will do so at least one more time before the political sun rises on the Eastern shores of Asia. Hopefully, for my sake, it will shine especially brightly on English-speaking peoples who have the courage to engage orientals -- on equal terms and without exaggerated and unnecessary and counter-productive threats or action of bombing, napalm, and economic bullying."

Nice words, but. Orientals have historically been cruel to each other, and we also see that in the Middle East, Arab on Arab, Moslem on Moslem. Recent larger examples, Saddam Hussein's fights with IraN, and invasion of Kuwait.

Are you questioning the outcome of WWII in the Pacific, Angus?
