I'm in Houston waiting for my car to be fixed. Needs a new starter motor. Molly and I were making a sentimental journey (sentimental for me, anyway) to Houston where I lived until I was ten years old. So of course I went to thehouse I lived in then. It's still there! I also went down to Galveston Bay where I lived from age ten to age seventeen, but the house I lived in there has been removed. It was right on the Bay. It has been twenty years since I've been in Houston, and probably fifty years since I've been down to check on the Bay house.

When I get enough of sentimentality I'll get back to a revision of the World Government Position Statement.

In the meantime, I'm glad to see Barack Obama apparently ahead. Will vote for him if nominated. His approach to conflict resolution is, for me, his most admirable trait. It is rare in politics as it has been practiced in the U.S. since time out of mind.

The way, I think, to resolve conflicts is to approach and engage, not disparage and withdraw. The latter leads to escalating hostility which may quickly reach a point where warfare looks like the only answer. Like global warming there are triggers, or points beyond which it is impossible to reverse the increase in hostility.

But I ramble.

Hope they hurry up and fix my car!
