I wasn't talking about building the cave. Building the cave is easy, even for us. I was talking about how they'd go about not getting noticed by us. That's a hard trick given the advanced state of our own heat-detection technology. Our keen recent interest in global warming means we're paying close attention to icy areas, so we'd very likely "see" the thermal signature of a cave base and then go out to see what was causing it. Odds are, we'd have found someone by now if they tried that trick. "Robbins’s claim fails because the Hobbs Act does not apply when the National Government is the intended beneficiary of the allegedly extortionate acts." WILKIE ET AL. v. ROBBINS. David H. Souter, Justice, U.S. Supreme Court
with John Roberts, Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy,
Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer, and Samuel Alito concurring. |
