Angus: "Your "benevolent" word is in quotes. Does that imply thou deplorest the "low level of authenticity in homo politicus"? If so, what dost THOU propose to do about it? And what dost THOU suggest we, that is to say, other TTers, do about it, if anything."

DWA: "This is somewhat prompted by the ongoing presidential campaign dialogue."

I assume the California State taxpayers, with a chip-in from Washington, financed the California State Water Project? I also assume that at that time the taxpayers were also significant savers.

DWA: "Temporary pain and sacrifice may even handsomely reward the present generations as they get older."

Would M. Ledoubleve (Malthus?) tell us why he pecked the "may even" keys? They sounded to this writer not so much triflingly discordant, but deafeningly open to authentication of either Malthusian rationality or cynical jocularity.

Surely a social network in which people work like hell while jocular bums pontificate logical but entirely irrational philosophical economics of allure in order to justofy their good fortune is to be questioned for flaws of presumption, nich wahr? what's this
