Therapy is in its toddlerhood. It falls on its face as often as not. There's a lot of good that gets done, but then there's the occasional "recovered memory" embarrassment to contend with as well. Does the profession good, I think, to take a few such jibes - it keeps us humble, motivates us to be a bit more careful.

For the record, I've not had much to do with that profession in a few years. Presently occupied monitoring nursing homes and making sure their care is up to specs. Skills are still useful - you'd be surprised how handy those skills are when handling colleagues, bosses, subordinates, etc.
