Total agreement? Religious orgs do that, or politicians?

This finger pointing link has somewhat of a S-D political "correct" tone, I thought. Anyway, in this one Bible passage, context is significant and dispositive. The "revenge" should be administered judiciously, and measured, not emotionally.

"If the witness is a false witness, having testified falsely against another, 19 then you shall do to the false witness just as the false witness had meant to do to the other. So you shall purge the evil from your midst. 20 The rest shall hear and be afraid, and a crime such as this shall never again be committed among you. 21 Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
"

Skeptic Darrel:"Also there is a danger in using the 'eye' for an 'eye' mentality that is promoted by many religious organizations. These people need to go back and get an 'operational' understanding of the biblical teachings regarding 'Vengence'.

Exercising 'Vengence' will near always do more long term harm to the one using it than the rewards for doing it. And YES I know there are those that will disagree but so be it."

I agree, also, that there are "reconciliation" themes in the Bible even the Old Testament. Case in point: Joseph getting sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers, and eventual reunion. Case in counter point: Dogs licking up the blood of King Ahab and Jezebel, in the street, after greedy conspiringly framing of Naboth, wanting his vineyard.
