Crossbowman:

Our world is in an agony of misunderstanding. The least a man of your oft-demonstrated capacity to think and be both rational and truthful can do is stand against prejudice spuriously taken from very youthful writings over a hundred years ago by a SUBSEQUENTLY world-renowned politician and historian.

Although I was able to laugh at your remark about CF's rejoinder, for it could be taken as sarcasm, DWA has indicated that he did not understand it as sarcasm. I therefore think that respect for your own contribution to civilization requires that you now make plain to DWA and me whether it was sarcasm or an abject neglect of your responsibility as a well-educated human being.

The most vile aspect of the culture of USAans that has revealed itself in the last generation or so has been a worship of money and power at the expense of honesty and integrity and concern for the vulnerable. It was, I believe, just exactly that kind of worship that distinguished the fascists once the brownshirts had taken over the Reichstag.
