...Years ago when "Dredge" was just a pup,
...He developed a habit of howling at the "Harvest Moon"!

...Strange pup that he was,he just loved to howl at that Ol'
Full moon!

...Some folks called him crazy, and told the old man that he'd
Better have that dog "put down", before he bites his hand,
Or worse, and lays HIM in the ground!

...That old man just kindly told those folks to find themselves
another thing to focus on , and please leave him and his
beloved friend, "Ol' Dredge", entirely alone.

...Now,these 14 long, hard, trying, soul-wrenching years of
Bearing witness to all that this warped world has to offer,
With it's never-ending tales of sorrow, and losing his sight
to a gunman in the night, who had stolen a car and shot his
gun, then driven out of town on that rainy night,...

...An old man, fishin' at the river's edge,
Laughs and says: "Oh yes,my beloved friend,"Dredge", ...I know it is the night of the " Harvest Moon",

"Because, if there was ever one thing that you loved to do,...
In this life, more than chasing a raccoon, it would be howling
At that old "Harvest full Moon !"

...Old man,...fishin' at the river's edge,...
...In the best of company, with his old dog,"Dredge",
...Heart filled with joy as he smells the fresh Fall night air,
...Under his last "Harvest Moon"...without a care!
